  • Submitting recommendations to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights on strengthening protections for freedom of religion or belief.
  • Partnering with civil society organizations to jointly call on governments to address religious freedom violations and uphold their international commitments.

The Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, drafted by Thomas Jefferson but not enacted until after his death, established freedom of religion, ensuring that individuals could practice their faith without government interference

Charter of Liberties and Privileges

The Charter of Liberties and Privileges, authored by William Penn, ensured freedom of worship for all theists and guaranteed religious tolerance in Pennsylvania

Massachusetts Body of Liberties

Bill of Rights
